Wow, man, the world of covers is unworldly large. You could take a cover from each year (let's say from 1956) and just make a gorgeous chrono-train through pop music. What to choose from each year? Can I tease you and say go for it, big man, go for it, and make a cd worth every month for every year, starting with 1956. Plenty of nice beautiful and exiting covers. Start with Elvis, Blue Suede Shoes. Take Janis's Piece of my Heart, Jimi's All along the watchtower. Otis's Satisfaction, or Aretha's reworkings. The Residents making their weird versions, and now here are hordes of singers doing it Under a Cover.Susanna Hoffs.
