Not much I can say about this pick. Do You Wanna Dance was a playlist I made years ago on cassette. I redid it on CD and now as a playlist. I loved making cassettes at the time. It took real time to record. As for this pick, it's just songs I considered to be danceable. I probably have played every one of these songs at a gig somewhere way back then. When you play this, you will feel your butt start to wiggle, because these are very danceable. Tell me what you like (or don't) and what you would place in it's stead. Yesterday I had part 2 of the (Something) Dance Connection, This one is easier. It's all songs with Dance in the title. Not kinds of Dances, just songs about Dance. I do have another WTC about Dancing here. I like that too. But this is more to the point. I hope you like it. There are some really good tracks here. The cover is very similar to the other ones in this series. Notice something else. I always use Helvetica as the font in this blog. Not because it's my favorite font, but it just turned out that way.

More of the WTC (something) and then Dance in the title. Part 1 (Something) Dance was earler this year. It had some good tracks. This might be even more diverse.Tiny Tim AND Patti Smith! C'mon! Dave Grusin and Garth Brooks! Ryuichi Sakamoto and King Tubby! That's going all over the map. But somehow it works. Same numbering and cover (almost) as the first part. But all new dance songs. I hope you enjoy them both. In case you want to know, I make all the covers in CorelDraw, but there are a ton of places on the web that allows you to make them for free. Search and you will find. I have fun with it and it only takes a couple of minutes more. Let me know if you appreciate them. I host files at Proton because I also host my mail there. I ised to use Krakenfiles and ufile, but didn't like their service and someone always had trouble getting the songs. Proton has been good for over a year now.

I started a Dance connection some time ago (click here for dancing and also dancer). This happened during the making of those. Types of dance, more importantly anything and dance in the title. Except for Last Dance which I hope to post sometime this year. The Kate Bush track has parentheses after, but I allowed it. Bauhaus had two words before the dance, but they were part of one thing, so I allowed that. If it was one word but dance was the end of that word, I allowed it. I have a volume two almost lined up, but not quite ready. I was lazy with the cover, maybe I will fix that in volume two, but probably not. If I do I will post both in that post.

Not family friendly, this pick includes a few dirty dance songs. Mostly it's double entendre. Ever since Donna Summer, I have always kept an ear out for songs that could be thought to be very dirty. I'm pretty sure most all of these qualify for at least a little bit naughty. The Yoko Ono remixes show how good her songs really are. I am in the like Yoko camp. Sorry if you are not. She's a trendsetter. I may one day do a pick on Belgian industrial dance or what became Body Music or a hundred other names. When I first heard Erotic Dissidents, I was firmly on that side of the fence, too. Taste of Sugar comes out of that camp, as well. I know that Nelly is who most people would play, but I liked Tiga's version. Several of these are only naughty if you have a dirty mind, luckily, I do. Please leave other suggestions in the comments, if you also have a dirty mind.

Sometime in the early 80's I made this cassette. Which I re-did as a CD and then now as a playlist. The cassette had some weird scribbles of purple on the cover, which I tried to stay true to in redesigning the CD cover. There is no real theme to this and was just music I liked at the time. The Ultravox! song that I named the cassette after was particularly one of my favorites (being a Brian Eno production) and why I decided to make this pick in the first place. Most of it was stuff that was not being played on the radio. Well, obviously Beat It was played everywhere. But to me they all could co-exist together. I never understood why some of these tracks didn't get more popular. The Joe Jackson, the Tom Tom Club, the Visage tracks, for instance, and my favorite Depeche Mode song that I had on multiple 12" singles (all with different covers). Why weren't they major hits on every station. I can understand that the Ultravox! was an acquired taste. I don't pretend to know the answer. I just liked all of this.

All these hits played on my cassette deck all day long. Loved this kind of stuff. All songs I picked from my playlist of back then.

Yes, I know that the title isn't capitalized. It was a choice I made at the time (mid 80's) and that I stayed true to. This was another one of those cassettes that I had made back then. I updated it a little when I went to make this playlist pick. Mostly by adding the extended version of Bill Idol's White Wedding, but the rest is just as it was. Although I added the dancing girl to the cover. The title stayed the same, the background was almost like that. Part 2 coming tomorrow.
