Yaz Pick

I did an earlier pick of Vince Clarke Family and I had some of these songs in it, but this pick goes a different direction. It's more from Alison Moyet's point of view. Yaz or Yazoo, depending on what country you are from, only had a couple of real albums before they split up (all friendly like) and Alison (or Alf as she was known - as if I knew her - I didn't unfortunately) went solo and Vince went to five million other projects (see the link above). Here are my favorites of her. I kind of feel this is cheating if you will because she has greatest hits and Yaz has compilations and anthologies, so it wouldn't be that hard to put  this together yourself. And frankly any of those anotholgies would be good. I just put them in slightly different order and used a couple of my favorite versions. It'll have to do. You can't go wrong as they are all good.

Vince Clarke is a synth-pop genius, innovator. He started Depeche Mode. He was Yaz or Yazoo (depending on where you were in the world). He is Erasure. And a dozen other projects that you may or may not have heard. It seems to me, that he gets a new singer and does a project. Some have lasted longer than others (obviously in Erasure he's been there a long time). Some lasted one single. But all have lasting importance in the musical world. Since he was in some longer than others, I took my favorites from those bands in this pick. The singles, I could only pick one. And I still had too many to pick from. So if I missed your favorite, sorry. There's just a lot to choose from. If you do not know this man, shame on you, but now you have no excuse.
