Happy Anniversary! (repost)

Repost: This connection or pick of anniversary songs is because today is my anniversary. Been married quite a while (since '07 if you want to know). I actually celebrate it twice a year six months apart because we had a church wedding six months after our actual wedding. Makes it kind of fun. Now these songs, however, are not all celebratory, but they do all have Anniversary in the title. Just don't play them for you other half and expect it to be all nice-nice. Some are. Some are not. I keep hoping there will be a better, newer anniversary song to celebrate, than the Little River Band, which isn't really about their anniversary, but celebrating that his significant other is happy with someone else. But it sounds happy! Oh well! Duran Duran is more in line with the sentiment, but it's not their best song.

My Wedding Music 2

I posted the pick of my wedding music on my first anniversary of the year (I have two) although we didn't have a reception with this dancing until the second one. The first was in Vegas at the Little Wedding Chapel with Elvis. The reception was just drinking at a restaurant with a very few select freinds and family that were in the Vegas area at the time. The second time was six months later and was proper in a church and a real reception with a lot of friends and family with invitations and everything. I had made a few CD's for the DJ (a friend) and told him to play anything he wanted, but if he could, play from these if it fit or if he got requests for any of these. He did. The last track was a song that my mom and dad played on their wedding. A couple of the others on this pick were from weddings of our friends and family. The rest were just songs we connected with.

My Wedding Music 1

Today is my Anniversary. Thank you. I have two per year. This is the first one of the year and December is the second. We got married in Vegas at the Little White Wedding Chapel and then later in a Catholic church in California. That one had a big reception. You probably have guessed that I am a DJ. I have done probably close to a thousand weddings. Love them. I hired another DJ to do my wedding. I gave him four CD's. One was this pick, which we also gave to all of our guests, and that my wife and I picked together. Two of the CD's were background music for cocktails and dinner, so our DJ (and friend) could enjoy dinner. The other two included music we wished he could play, but he had free range to play anything he wanted. He was good, so we knew he would look at the crowd and play what they wanted. We only said he had to play our first dance, which we did a rhumba to. Our reception was a rager. People had to unexpectedly spend the night in a hotel. Some planned ahead. The next day we continued. Ask in the comments if you are interested in the other CD's.
