William S Burroughs was part of the Beat Generation. He was wild and crazy and started or promoted a bunch of stuff in his lifetime. A heroin addict, writer and promoter of the avant garde. His voice is distinctive and he was sampled as much as he sampled others. Here are some of the Cut and Paste (which is what became sampling later on) he appeared on or instigated. Think of it as an introduction to William S Burroughs and his work. This started life as a cassette (therefore side 1 and side 2) but has been completely redone as this higher quality playlist. Like yesterday's pick, this is not for everybody. I'm not sure, but I think he would have been a Libertarian in today's world. But I think he thought of himself as an anarchist or liberal. My how times change. I love the cover.
