Classifieds Pick

It's hard to describe this pick. Let's do it this way. There are two kinds of people. People who think The Beatles song "Revolution 9" is brilliant and those that think it is the worst Beatles song ever. This pick is not for the latter, because all of the songs on this playlist are descended from Revolution 9. You will hate or love this playlist. There is no inbetween. I am in the love category which is why I made what was originally this cassette. But now redone in better quality. Not spoken word, but incorporating found cut ups like William S Burroughs did (I'll post a comp of his sometime), but also incorporating samples of sound and music in various ways. The Beatles didn't do it first, but they did get it into every household of America first.

    1. Don't know much about them. I first heard them in the late 80's. All the "lyrics" were done by an author John Strausbaugh from his book "Flying Fish" and the "music" including mixing and recording was done by McGregor Boyle who I kinda remember being a professor of music from some University (John Hopkins?). It was a live performance with dancers and stuff like that and as far as I know, they did not make another album.

    2. BTW, not the only University type performance on this pick. Hage Van Dijk was from a performance at San Jose State University.
