There are so many story songs. A beginning, a middle and an end. and I have put some country picks into this series although not as many as there are country story songs. But not so much today. Just a smattering. Today there is a wide variety of bands. Including one of my favorites from the Bay Area: Negativland. They use found sounds in their songs and this one is a good story about making scrambled eggs. I love it. Add in a story about seeing your dinner on your TV, a story about a restaurant, a story about the phenomena of streaking, Kate Bush covering Elton John and ending it with Gil Scott-Heron. Yahoo! I got to see Gil Scott-Heron perform this song on piano in NY. What a great show, but it was obvious that he was having trouble. Sad really. But to hear him in person was great.
