Yesterday I posted a pick about Gary Moore and today it is Phil Lynott. Both played together in and out of Thin Lizzy, so it makes some sense. There is some overlap because of it, but just ignore that. It's not much, but tracks that had to be on both. There is much more that is different. Even the Thin Lizzy songs are completely different. If you want to look up the background of each, it's all available and it's interesting to read about. All I want to say is that Phil Lynott is under appreciated and under recognized for his role in rock history. And he's got a ton of really great songs that he left behind. I included a track that isn't as well known in the US as it is in the UK and that is a track that Lynott wrote with Midge Ure: Yellow Pearl. It will probably show up soon in a Midge Ure associated pick coming up (tomorrow?) That track was used as a theme for some show we don't have here in the States. Anyway, enjoy the selection.
