This connection started because of Phil Manzanera. His great album Diamond Head has a bonus track that got me going on this. Not all of these songs are actual rhumba songs as in the dance, but they all have Rhumba in the title. Going back to Phil, is it a play on Rhumba and a car? Or is it a play on Caramba? Which means something entirely different. I have no idea, but I love the song (as well as the rest of the album). From A Certain Ratio to Little Feat, there is wide variety. As long as I found a way to include Wire, I was going to be happy with the choices. As for the dance, I practiced it a lot as it was what we danced for the first dance at my wedding. Turned out pretty good.
