Picking On Milo (Descendents)

I first heard the Descendents EP Bonus Fat (1981) because of my housemate and had to get their first album Milo Goes To College (1982). I loved some of the songs and loved the fact that there were songs less than a minute (heck, less than 30 seconds). I played these songs later on the radio and there basically was barely enough time to cue up the next record. Was crazy time in the radio booth. I put the 15 second ones on "cart" - it was the only way to play them. Either way this pick has a little of  all the studio albums. None of the offshoot All (sorry they had a couple of good songs too.) Only Milo. The cover is a Milo-fied version of me goatee and mohawk included. This is some good punk rock from a cool band.

  1. We did a Hot 100 once, where the number 100 lasted 1m40, Nr 99 1m39 etc and the top 20 was Mayhem. We did it live on radio 100, Amsterdam back in 1992 or so. The show was 2 hours including announcements. I Like Food (Food is Good) by The Descendants was in it.

    1. You must have had some help! And either carts or multiple (more than two) record players. It's the only way. I can cue up a record in twenty seconds if it's out of the sleeves and pre-arranged, but it's hard to get them in a row.

    2. Yes, as I say WE did this . A very experienced technician, me assembling/announcing and someone to sort everything. In the nineties everything was with vinyl. No easy task.
everything was prepared, the vinyls, out of their sleeves, only in their protective sleeve, stickers for which song/what side.
The technician called itt his most challenging and satisfifying job, to get the to twenty right. (also, I talked a bit more in the top ten to give him a few seconds more)

    3. I salute you! I did an hour by myself, but spaced out the short ones with the longer ones and still barely made it. Talked a few times while cueing a track. I sounded like crap. But got the music going
