Happy Columbus Day! It's an important day to celebrate Italian heritage and is a celebration of Europeans beginning the exploration of and colonization of the New World. He made it to the Americas! Established primarily to promote Italians who were, at the time, facing discrimination. Technically Columbus arrived on October 12th, but his day is celebrated on the second Monday of October. There are great festivities to go to around the US, so have some fun. The songs on this connection are not all about the day or the man, but they all have Columbus in the title. The Siouxsie track at the end only has it in the title of the mix, but the song is about the Edge of the World, so it more than qualifies. Look for more Italian songs by searching Paisan or clicking there. Try snacking on some cannoli or zeppole today!
