The third Saturday of October is Sweetest Day. Don't confuse it with Valentines Day, because although we might give candies or pastries to our loved ones, it's more about doing something kind for someone else. A stranger, perhaps. For me this date is also the day my daughter was born and that was a real sweet thing for me. This connection is my pick of the sweetest songs I could think of. In these sometimes troubling times around the world, let's all try to pay it forward today. Do something charitable today, especially if you don't normally take the time to do it daily. Consider this one thing. What would this world be like if everyone in it was acting like you? Don't do this to get noticed, don't do it and post it. Do something and don't take credit. Post only if someone else did something that touched you today. Something that made you smile. Let today be an example of what the world could be if we did it everyday. And see if you can go a whole day saying only positive things to everyone. Can you make it one day? And Happy Birthday, sweet baby.

DeleteI thought it is a song like (textually) Brotherhood of man - Save your kisses for me. Where at the end of the song the singer explains that the lady mentioned is his only 3 years old daughter.

DeleteI'd never heard of Sweetest Day until we moved to Michigan in '98... one of a hundred things telling us we weren't in California or Massachusetts any longer. :-)
