Soda Pop

I was listening to Kim Mitchell (from Max Webster see the Webster Pick from a couple of days ago) and his hit and thinking of the difference between areas of the country/world where they call it either Soda or Pop or even just Coke (regardless of brand). The difference seems to be regional. I thought of a few songs right away that had a soda pop as the main part of the song (Suicidal Tendencies Institutionalized came to mind). Even though that song came first to mind, I didn't include it. "All I wanted was a Pepsi and she wouldn't give it to me." I did include The Faction. I didn't include REM Orange Crush (although I probably should have). I also didn't include I'd Like To Buy The World A Coke or Come Alive even though both are good songs and were used as Coke and Pepsi commercials. There were a couple of commercials I skipped like Chuck Berry singing about Dr Pepper even though I liked them. This is what was left and what you get in this WTC. Only one song is repeated, but so different that I had to. Also, I didn't include the 7-Up song (lime and the coconut). Too bad, you got enough.

Edwin Rutte is best known in The Netherlands as Ome Willem.
This Carnaval tune is also a Pepsi commercial, quite funny.
The best song in Dutch about non-alcoholic beverages is this lovely tune, Sophietje, by Johnny Lion
