  1. The Alan Bown - Mutiny

Late sixties goofy pirate song including a young Jesse Roden singing.

  2. You had Adam & the Ants (Stand & Deliver, too obvious) Nick Cave (Mutany in Heaven is still a great track)
Die Toten Hosen - Unter Falsche Flagge (Morricone's Spiel Mir Das Lied Vom Tod or the titel track)
Thomas Dolby - Europe And the Pirate Twins
There are quite a few things one can learn about Pirates. One is that they had homosexual "marriage" as far back as the 1700s.
A very different kind of Piracy is the Dutch 1980s kind. The illegal radiostations. These were unlike the Radio Carolinas etc these were solely dedicated to Dutch language music that was very commercial. Vader Abraham had a hit with Bedankt Piraten. It is not my music at all, but it drew huge crowds, these Pirate Festivals, No fancy dress.
    Look and learn

    1. I can't believe I missed Thomas Dolby! I think pirate songs about radio stations should count, both in England and Nederland

    2. I am in no way a fan of the pirate music as it is and was in The Netherlands. It started in the sixties with very amateuristic approach to music. (the Dutch word is Kneuterig)
In the 60's Johnny Hoes started the label Telstar and produced an endless stream of cheap Dutch language(also German) singles and albums. In the late seventies and early 80s it began to shift. Production became better, production, songwriting became better.
And from the late 80s on it became a mainstream kind of music. Hugely succesful, but musically as interesting as the Macburger is to the real Hamburger.
