This connection is about the Hook. There are many hooks, but it does not include Hooked songs or Hooker songs. Those may come later. You'll have to decide if these pertain to hooks like on the end of fishing lines or in butcher shops. Or hooks like in each of these songs. Some are about hooking up or not hooking up. Some are about the hooks we put into people and a couple about something completely different. None are about Captain Hook, though. Again, you decide which one pertains most for each title.

When you translate hook into Dutch you will not find many connections. Mainly because the first connection (older) people see is that with hook and cross. The swastika. The Dutch word is Hakenkruis. In the punk days a very obscure band Robotski had a cassette Ongesteld. On it was the anti-neo-nazi, anti-religious song Hakenkruis (Jesus on the cross, the hooked cross of god, that cross must come down) Very obscure song.
ReplyDeleteIn Germany you will find Neo-Nazis and other Neo-Arians singing about the hooked cross. Not nice stuff. The village I come from, well my grandfathers told me stories.....Never again, but the stupid thing is, they are back.
So I will end with a happy turn. I cannot wait till you have songs abour hookers. Rugby songs always cheer me up. and I work for an ex-hooker. He became paraplegic after a scrum gone bad.
